Run by Triple Eight under the ‘egg:sport’ banner in the 2001 BTCC. Primarily driven by Phil Bennett, except for the Oulton Park round where Andy Priaulx would substitute whilst Bennet served a one-race ban. Run as the ‘egg:sport’ entry again in 2002, this time driven by Matt Neal.In 2003 the car, along with V2001-003, would be bought by GA Motorsport and driven by Gavin Pyper and Carl Breeze in 2003, and by Paul Wallace, Kelvin Burt and Stefan Hodgetts in 2004. After missing the Knockhill round in 2004, the team would run a single car for the remainder of the season driven initially by Carl Breeze and then by Gavin Pyper, although it is not known if 001 or 003 was used.
Through 2005 and 2006 both 001 and 003 would make sporadic appearances in the Britcar Production series.
In late 2006, both cars were sold to Encke Sport, a new team backed by Blackburn Rovers and Finland international goalkeeper Peter Enckelman. The team had planned to run them in the 2007 BTCC but quickly decided it was too much too soon for a new team, meaning that the cars would sit unused.
001 was eventually sold to Tony Tait, who initially leant the car to Kirklees College as a training aid for vehicle engineering students, before moving it to Huddersfield University engineering department.
