Driven by Jason Plato at the opening round of the 2001 BTCC. He would switch to V2001-005 for the remainder of the season, with this car was converted to a two-seater for promotional rides.

The car would re-appear as a race car in 2004 when it was run in the BTCC under the 'VXR Junior' banner before being sold to Daniels Motorsport in 2005, who ran it for Andy Neate in the final round of the 2005 BTCC, and for Nick Leason in the final two rounds of the 2006

After 2006 the car remained unused until being purchased by Lee Brett in 2014 and rebuilt.

Destroyed in a fire on 29th January 2020. The remains were purchased by Toby Smith in late 2023 to use as spares to rebuild V2001-005
