Originally built from a 2005 manufactured chassis for the Estonian Volkswagen importer and run for a couple of seasons in the Baltic states.

Unused in 2009, until purchased at the end of the year by Automotive Developments (AmD Technik). The car was rebuilt and fitted by new aero kit, and run in the 2010 BTCC with AmD boss Shaun Hollamby driving.

The team continued to run the car with a variety of drivers for the next few years. In 2013 the team only ran a part-season, and briefly switched to a Honda Civic, but for the final race of the year Hollamby would again get behind the wheel for one final outing - this being the last time that S2000-spec cars would be allowed in the BTCC.

Sold at the end of 2013 to Ronnie Amis, who rebuilt the car with a more powerful turbo engine and ran in Time Attack in 2014/15.

Unused and for sale in 2016/17, the car was bought by Matt Straker in January 2018.
