Intended to be built for the 2017 season as a replacement for the car damaged at Snetterton in 2016. A new road car shell was sourced, stripped and sent to WPMS to build and install the rollcage. Although a build number was allocated, the order was cancelled before fabrication was started.

With the ex Marc Hynes' car still on the market and unused since 2014, the team decided that it would be more cost effective to buy back that car instead of building another.

The shell was returned to Triple Eight, where it was stored outside the workshop. Since all the rust protection had been removed when the shell was acid dipped, it wasn't long before the shell accumulated too much corrosion to be of usable.
