Initially used by RMl as a test car. In the latter part of 2009 the car would be run in the BTCC for James Nash, before being purchased by Bamboo Engineering and run in the end-of-season ETC Cup.

For 2010, the team moved to the WTCC with Harry Vaulkhard driving this car for the majority of the year. Budgetary problems meant that Vaulkhard was forced to stand down and was replaced by Yukinori Taniguchi for the final 3 races of the year. Taniguchi would again drive the car for the first race of 2011 as the Chevrolet Cruze the team would use for the remainder of the year could not be shipped out to Brazil in time. Both of the bamboo-engineering cars were sold to Asia, this one being driven by Felipe de Souza at the Macau WTCC round in 2011, and continued to be raced in the Hong Kong series after that
