Early history of the car is unknown. It is believed to have started life as a Super Production spec car, possibly one of the cars run by Gary Ayles Racing in the early 2000's BTCC, although this is yet to be confirmed.

By 2005 the car had been stripped to a bare shell and was with N.Technology in Italy. Purchased by Mark Smith, along with an ex-Gary Ayles Motorsport S2000 car. Smith had intended to use the other but having inspected some previously repaired accident damage, decided to transfer the S2000 running gear into this shell, upgrading to the latest spec engine and sequential gearbox at the same time. The work was carried out by PT Motorsport.

Run in the 2006 BTCC by InFront Motorsport, although delays in obtaining parts meant the team were forced to miss some rounds.

The car remains with Mark Smith and has been unused since the end of 2006.
