CommentsBuilt by JAS Motorsport during 2012 as a test car in preparation for a full Honda WTCC programme in 2013. Entered in the final 3 WTCC rounds of 2012 and driven by Tiago Monteiro. The car run under Swedish national homologation rather than full FIA S2000 homologation.
With the team building 3 new (FIA-spec) cars for 2013, it would remain unused until the Japan round when it would driven by Super GT racer Takuya Izawa.
Plans to run the car again in 2014 were initially rejected by the FIA, who would not allow a manufacturer team to run a locally homologated car when an FIA homologated version (i.e. the 2013 car) was available. However the car was allowed to race when entered by privateer team NIKA Racing, and ran as a one-off at the Hungarian round.
