Early history of the car is unknown. By 2010 (possibly earlier), the car was one of two (with XWT-007) owned by SEAT Sport Italia and fitted with a 400+ bhp turbo engine for use in the Italian Endurance series. It is believed that Roberto Colciago drove XWT-007 with this car being the spare, although that is yet to be confirmed.

In 2011, both cars were purchased by Pierre Piron and run in the Belgium endurance series. It is not known which of the cars he used; there is a suggestion that he may have switched between the two during the course of the year.

Purchased by Warren Scott and run in the first half of the 2013 BTCC, before switching to an NGTC Volkswagen CC for the latter half of the year.
