Build by Hotfiel Sport as a last-minute replacement for the original car crashed by Thomas Jäger at Monza. The car would make its debut at the Magny-Cours round.

A string of poor results meant that the team decided to miss the Mexico round and concentrate on testing and car development, with Michael Funke replacing Jäger, who had stepping down for personal reasons. Funke's race debut at Spa proved to be less than memorable for all the wrong reasons with the car rolling on the opening lap.
